Kipps Elementary School Good Citizenship Program

Since 1995, Draper Aden Associates has been presenting Good Citizenship Awards to specially selected graduating fifth graders at Kipps Elementary School in Blacksburg as part of the “Partners in Education Program.”

-

The program was started in order to promote outstanding citizenship in our schools by promoting kindness and respect. Students must demonstrate the characteristics of a good citizen in daily life.  These characteristics include:  being a good role model for your fellow students; being dependable; being helpful; and above and beyond all, being kind. Students are selected by their teachers based on these criteria. Two students are chosen from each homeroom. The students received a certificate of “Good Citizenship” and a $50 U.S. Savings Bond.
