Collaborating with an architectural and engineering team, Draper Aden Associates evaluated options for restoration and improved tourism services for the home of Thomas Jefferson. The goal of the project is preservation and restoration of the mountaintop, while providing for a new visitor's center, administration/maintenance complex, and enhanced tourist experience. Evaluation of vehicular circulation, the provision of adequate water and wastewater service, and environmental preservation are major elements of this project. It is anticipated that this evaluation will lead to the construction of a new gateway to the Monticello experience.
