Geophysical Services

-Unexpected subsurface conditions such as sinkholes, bedrock, buried debris, voids, etc., encountered during construction create delays and increased project costs. Geophysical evaluations during site planning and design can cost-effectively identify such conditions, which may not be detected in a typical geotechnical engineering study.

With over 25 years of geophysical experience, Draper Aden Associates has a proven track record of successfully identifying and providing solutions for unexpected or “problem” subsurface conditions. The geophysical services we offer include:

Seismic Refraction/Surface Wave Surveys
: Identifying depth to bedrock along profiles, excavation characteristics (ripping, blasting) , soft and dense soils, groundwater and subsurface voids.

-Electrical Resistivity Survey: Identifying bedrock fracture zones, subsurface voids, extent and thickness of buried debris.

Ground-penetrating Radar Surveys: Locating subsurface utilities, underground tanks, buried debris/archaeological features, map bedrock surface.

Electromagnetic Surveys: Identifying sinkholes, subsurface voids, extent of buried debris/archaeological features, water-bearing bedrock fractures.
