Geophysical Services
Unexpected subsurface conditions such as sinkholes, bedrock, buried debris, voids, etc., encountered during construction create delays and increased project costs. Geophysical evaluations during site planning and design can cost-effectively identify such conditions, which may not be detected in a typical geotechnical engineering study.
With over 25 years of geophysical experience, Draper Aden Associates has a proven track record of successfully identifying and providing solutions for unexpected or “problem” subsurface conditions. The geophysical services we offer include:
Seismic Refraction/Surface Wave Surveys: Identifying depth to bedrock along profiles, excavation characteristics (ripping, blasting) , soft and dense soils, groundwater and subsurface voids.
Electrical Resistivity Survey: Identifying bedrock fracture zones, subsurface voids, extent and thickness of buried debris.
Ground-penetrating Radar Surveys: Locating subsurface utilities, underground tanks, buried debris/archaeological features, map bedrock surface.
Electromagnetic Surveys: Identifying sinkholes, subsurface voids, extent of buried debris/archaeological features, water-bearing bedrock fractures.
