Virginia Beach Office Growth Continues with New Hires

When our Virginia Beach outpost first opened in July 2017, we had a team of five staff members. Now, less than two-and-a-half years later, our office has grown by 200% percent. This expansion was recently capped by the addition of two new team members in Virginia Beach: Caleb Hurst, PE, and Anthony Tomlin, PE.

Hurst - Tomlin

Caleb joined the Site Development & Infrastructure group and has over 20 of experience in land development site plan design, managing projects, schedules, budgets, and staffing on a variety of government, commercial, municipal, and industrial projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University.

Anthony joined the Solid Waste team as a Program Engineer. With over 24 years of civil design and environmental project experience, he has conducted or managed numerous solid waste, environmental restoration (CERCLA/RCRA), and industrial site projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and conducted graduate studies at West Virginia University.

To help support this continued growth, our firm also promoted Joe Bushey to Site Development & Infrastructure Division Team Leader in Hampton Roads. Joe is responsible for overseeing site development, land planning, and infrastructure projects in the area, including client service and business development. He joined our firm in August 2018 as a Senior Project Manager and has more than 25 years of experience in site design, utility design, roadway design, site grading, stormwater management, erosion control, construction document preparation, and business development.

Our success in Virginia Beach highlights our firm’s history of partnering with clients to provide a lasting positive impact in the communities we serve. Our Virginia Beach office supports clients in a variety of industry sectors, including higher education, athletics, private developers, and the public sector.

This expansion in Virginia Beach is reflected in the firm’s broader growth over the past five years and positions our firm for continued success and new opportunities in 2020. There’s a lot to look forward to!
